Under a partnership with GS Engineering & Construction (http://www.gsconst.co.kr/), a leading conglomerate in Korea, Nuri Telecom has been selected to implement the Citywide Integrated Energy Monitoring System in the City of Ansan, Korea. The project is part of a feasibility study of Korean government's smart city project that is driven by GS E&C, KICT(Korea Institute of Construction Technology) and KESRI(Korea Electrical Engineering & Science Research Institute). As a AMI/EMS solution partner, Nuri Telecom will implement the system to monitor/manage the energy usage used in the public buildings in Ansan City such as City hall, parliament and government office buildings, community service centers, kindergartens, health center etc at the first phase. Being integrated with the solar energy generation data, the system will provide the real-time energy usage database and statistical analysis functions per zone/facility/location etc. Prior to this project, GS E&C successfully established energy monitoring system at its R&D center using Nuri's EMS technology. The next phase for expanding to the private buildings and industrial complexes located in Ansan City will be followed at the end of this year. "Ansan City is the first municipality in Korea to establish energy morning system for entire city. The city will push ahead with this project to solve a recent electric power shortage issue in the medium to longer term." said Sujang Cho, Director of EDM business Dept. of Nuri Telecom. "The City expects that the introduction of EMS will bring 15% energy usage saving."
